Thank You For Being My Cabin In The Woods

A Poem About How That One Person Came Into Your Life

The trees rustle and I emerge on the edge of a clearing,
The wind doesn’t touch me here — there’s no need to fear.
I hear —
A faint song, from a cabin
For which I so long.

I rattle on the door and it swings open,
I’m besset with a welcomed warmth —
That I now miss so often.

I have not been here before, but yet
Each wall holds memories that we have yet to set.
The oaken walls protect me from the storm,
The harth hearkens to my brittle heart

And O, I know that I have been set apart,
For the love of this beautiful place.

And O, how I wish to see your face
As we once stood —

Thank you for being my cabin in the woods.
